Job : Pernod Ricard New Zealand - Seasonal Workers

	Pernod Ricard New Zealand have a number of seasonal work opportunities available during the year. We will provide training and equipment necessary to complete tasks. All seasonal (casual) employees are responsible for arranging their accommodation and transport to and from their place of work. Preference will be given to people already in New Zealand, whether residents or visitors, and to those readying themselves for a career in the wine industry. Applicants will need: * Valid work permit (see note below for foreign applicants) * a New Zealand bank account (Your wages will be paid directly into your NZ bank account. If you do not have one, you'll be required to open one.) * IRD number Foreign applicants You should apply for a work visa from your home country. Some of the requirements are that you: * are between 18 and 30 years old * are single * have adequate medical insurance * have a return flight ticket (or sufficient funds for one), and * are able to support yourself during your stay in New Zealand. All criteria for visiting and working in New Zealand is set out on the website www.immigration.govt.nz If you are already in New Zealand and do not have the appropriate visa, there is a possibility that we may be able to assist you to obtain a permit for temporary work. Seasonal Vineyard Work - Marlborough Pruning & Wrapping When? mid-May to August/September We need about 700 people to carry out pruning and wrapping on our Marlborough and North Canterbury vineyards each winter. Applicants should state any previous experience when they apply. The work includes pruning, stripping and trimming of vines on our 1900 ha of vineyards. Wrapping consists of tying down the pruned vines to wires. We seek individuals who possess: * a cheerful, positive work ethic * physical fitness - pruning is physically demanding * willingness to learn new skills * enjoy working outdoors and willing to commit to working for at least four weeks The pruning season is expected to last for 12 weeks. Casual workers on our vineyards often stay at backpacker hostels or camping grounds in the area. Employees begin on an hourly rate of pay however much of the work performed on the vineyards and at the Propagation Unit are worked on piecework (contract) rates. Canopy Maintenance When? November to February This Summer work involves bud rubbing, wire lifting, fruit thinning, leaf plucking and requires 350 - 400 casual staff each season Applicants should have: * an ability to learn new skills * a cheerful approach to work * willingness to perform as part of a team * physical fitness Grapevine Nursery/Production of grapevines When? May to December/January This involves the collection of budwood and rootstock, later to be grafted. Plant lifting and preparation, dispatching for corporate vineyards and for sale. The Propagation Unit employs up to 100 staff each season. The Propagation Unit management seek individuals who: * are quick to learn new skills * have a sound work ethic * have a cheerful approach to daily tasks * are willing to participate as part of a team * arrange own transport Hand Harvest When? March/April Hand harvest is co-ordinated by the Propagation Unit. This involves travelling to vineyard blocks as the grapes are due to be picked. Hand harvesting management are looking for staff who: * display willingness to work as part of a team * possess a cheerful and positive outlook * arrange their own transport * can follow instructions Please apply for all jobs through website
